Position sensing technologies are essential to modern motion control systems, yet most non-contact sensing solutions, including Hall, AMR, GMR, TMR, inductive, optical, and resolver-based sensors, are limited to measuring a single 360-degree rotation. The ADMT4000 breaks through this limitation as the world’s first and only single-chip absolute multiturn position sensor, delivering accurate position measurements across 46 full rotations, or 16,500 degrees, with angular accuracy of ±0.25°. By leveraging a unique Shape Anisotropy effect and a patented nanowire-based GMR structure, the sensor retains rotational position information without requiring power, enabling true absolute multiturn sensing in a compact, contactless design.
